Les Mutinés

In 1789, master’s mate Fletcher Christian led a notorious mutiny on the Bounty, which was under the command of William Bligh. The mutiny on the Bounty is one of the most well known mutinies that ever occurred in the British Royal Navy.
Within a unique Polynesian atoll, the world-class resort The Brando gastronomic restaurant offers an environment to inspire the legendary maritime adventure “Mutiny on the Bounty,” offering guests a theatrical gastronomic journey that traces a historical journey similar to the voyages of the famous ship. We created the menu in the form of a navigation map from London to Tetiaroa, following the original route of the Bounty ship. Each guest receives an envelope, in which they discover the map menu. 7 navigation stages, representing the 7 courses of the gastronomic voyage proposed by the famous chef Jean Imbert. ✤

Thanks to historical researchs, the Menus tell the story of William Bligh and his crew. We paid particular attention to its manufacture. The envelope is embossed with 2 different types of gold foils, and the illustrations are deliberately distorted to bring the story of the Mutineers journey to life.

The Original Medical book taken by Mutineers on the Bounty (Royal Museum of Greenwich) inspired us for the project identity. The story of the mutiny aboard HMS Bounty on 28 April 1789, led by Master’s Mate Fletcher Christian, and the subsequent epic sea voyage by Lieutenant William Bligh and his men is well-known.
